What is the difference between tea & tisane?
Tisanes (also known as "herbal teas") are distinct from teas in that they do not contain the true tea plant, Camellia sinensis, which is the source for the common caffeinated white, green, and black teas. Tisanes are naturally non-caffeinated and we can grow them right here in central Vermont, unlike the tea plant, which prefers a more sub-tropical climate. We do, however, offer several blends that incorporate organic and fair-trade, green and black teas, in blends such as Arise Divine, Verveine Noir, and Tulsi Mint Green.
